Mike Davila

College Inroads was founded by Mike Davila in 2009.

Mike Davila is a 1994 graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. After graduation, he served on active duty as a surface warfare officer for 6.5 years. His tours of duty included time aboard a guided missile cruiser, an aircraft carrier, and a final tour of duty on faculty at Annapolis teaching Naval Strategy and Tactics.

He left active duty in 2000, and is currently the founding partner of the Austin-based educational consulting firm, College Inroads, LLC. He is a member of the Higher Education Consultants of America (HECA), National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC), and is an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants of America (IECA). He is the Executive Director of the national 501(c)3 organization, The National Collegiate Advocacy Group based in New York.

He received a Master’s degree in Education at the University of Texas at Austin in 2013, specializing in College and University Student Personnel Administration. He was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education, in 2007. He has been invited to speak at national conferences, seminars, and web events regarding his study focus, enrollment management in higher education.

Mike balances by spending time with family and friends, exercising, and playing bass in a Austin-based Blues band Stephen Hendricks and the Sidekicks.

Annmarie Hatfield, Sales and Marketing Director / Partner at College Inroads, has many years of experience assisting businesses in bettering their bottom line by building relationships with clients and business partners. She spends extensive time networking in the business community and in educating parents and students about the complex process of college planning. Her passion is in helping people and developing long-term relationships with her clients and their students.

Annmarie lives in Austin, TX (in the Lakeway area) with her husband Christopher and has 2 stepchildren. She serves on the Board of Directors and as an Ambassador for the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce. She was selected as their Volunteer of the Year for 2015 and 2013 and College Inroads was awarded their Indie Award in 2017. Annmarie is also a Board Member for the Lake Travis Education Foundation, raising money for Lake Travis ISD students. She is an active member of Business Network International‘s 360 group where she is the Chapter President.  Annmarie is a member of  National Association of College Admissions Counselors (NACAC), Texas Association of College Admissions Counselors (TACAC) and The National Collegiate Advocacy Group (NCAG.) She is a proud graduate from the University of Texas at Austin, where she received a BS in Speech Communications.


Dee Kohlhoff helps our team around the office and in bringing in new clients.

Dee Kohlhoff is a natural connector.  She spent many years connecting employees with high tech startups in Austin, Texas.  She now has a passion for connecting high school students to the right college.  Her experience includes running her own business, starting a 501(c)3 non-profit for helping ex-prisoners enter into society and working in the healthcare, college ministry, executive recruitment and senior care industries.  She is a member of the National College Advocacy Group (NCAG.) Her passion is supporting and serving others with integrity, helping others to succeed.  She loves the Texas hill country and spends as much time as she can with her family there.  She lives in Round Rock with her husband and a white Labrador Retriever and has two grown children.


Joy App

Joy is one of our Educational Consultants, helping our students with the Career Search, Resume, Interview and College Search pieces of our business.

Joy specializes in working with LD, ADHD and Gifted LD students, finding them best fit colleges with appropriate accommodations.  With many years of classroom experience and working with families, she is also a member of HECA, IECA, NCAG, TACAC and LDA.  Joy works with clients in person and remotely and holds workshops in Houston, Austin and San Antonio.  She has presented at national conferences and is certified in Special Ed and Gifted Ed. Joy holds a B.S. in Education, did her graduate work in Gifted Ed and completed the UCLA Certificate in College Counseling with Distinction.

In order to keep current and serve her clients best, Joy travels across the country every year, visiting college admissions and disability service personnel.
